"Resolution of the Parliament concerning he situation in Kyiv is in time and of vital importance", - Mykola Tomenko, the Vice-Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared to the journalists commenting the today´s voting by the results of the Report of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Temporary Inquiry Panel set up to investigate the Circumstances surrounding Violation of the Constitution of Ukraine and Ukrainian Laws, Adoption of Illegal Resolutions by the Officials of Kyiv Municipal Council and its Executive Body.
Today, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine by 228 votes upheld the Resolution on the Report of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Temporary Inquiry Panel set up to investigate the Circumstances surrounding Violation of the Constitution of Ukraine and Ukrainian Laws, Adoption of Illegal Resolutions by the Officials of Kyiv Municipal Council and its Executive Body (Reg№4504 from 04.06.2009).
In view of the critical situation in the city of Kyiv, The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine appeals to the President of Ukraine with a request to withdraw L. M. Chernovetsky, Head of Kyiv City State Administration, from the fulfillment of his authorities for the period of activity of the Temporary Inquiry Panel.
The parliament also recommends that the President of Ukraine cancels the decree of Kyiv mayor concerning appointment of first deputy heads of Kyiv City State Administration, as it was adopted with the violation of Clause 16 of the Law "On the Capital of Ukraine Kyiv City Hero".
The Verkhovna Rada commissioned the Accounting Chamber, the Central Controlling and Auditing Service and the State Tax Administration to hold complex auditing of the executive body of Kyiv City Council (Kyiv City State Administration) as regards observance of budget and tax legislation of Ukraine in their financial-economic activity.
Still, M. Tomenko expressed astonishment concerning the voting on the issue. "Is the Position of the party of Regions is obvious taking into account they constantly uphold the activity of L. Chernovetsky, the position of Lytvyn Bloc is unclear as they severely criticize the activity of the city mayor but have not upheld the Resolution", - he announced.
"I would ask the President´s team during 15 days form their position: either he supports the activity of Chernovetsky in Kyiv city or deems it necessary to stick to the common position with the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to remove mayor from his duties", - M. Tomenko emphasized.
